LM98640CVAL: About parts replacement of EVM.

Part Number: LM98640CVAL

Hi,

Customer has a question.

Q.

LM98640CVALEVM is broken.
There is a possibility that the AT24C02 - 10SI - 2.7 has failed.
(LM 98640 CALV EVM User Guide 4.5 Page 5: Data Output Section)

If this IC is faulty,
Is it possible to recover by purchasing and replacing the same parts?

Since something is being written to this ROM at the time of shipment,
Is it impossible to restore by IC exchange?

Best Regards,

watanabe

  • The AT24C02 is an EEPROM that stores the board identity. When connected to a WaveVision 5 board, this allows the AFEval software to identify the board and apply the correct settings. If the LM98640CVAL is not used with the WaveVision 5 board, this EEPROM is not necessary.

The EEPROM could be replaced. It would then need to reprogrammed. I can provide instructions for doing that if necessary.
