DK-LM3S-DRV8312 and brushed motors

Page 3 of The Baseboard Hardware Reference Guide for the DK-LM3S-DRV8312 brushed motor kit mentions that it is possible to connect 2 brushed DC motors to the kit’s board and refers to Figure 5.

There is no technical explanation or instruction on how to do this contained in the guide, and I haven't been able to find any additional resources/documentation that speaks to this capability.

Is this capability erroneously called out in the guide, or is there documentation that specifically addresses this capability and implementation?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi William,

I'm actually very intrigued on how that entire paragraph (under "Hardware Overview" on page 3) got into this documentation. Unfortunately, the DRV8312 does not support two brushed DC motors, just three phase brushless. This text actually applies to the DRV8412 EVM, which does spin either one stepper or two brushed motors. Once again, I am not sure how it got there.

    Thanks for catching this!

    Matt Hein
