unable to build error between LAB 5B & 5C

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Errors in LAB 5c.

From lab05b to lab05c, we switch from FOC to MOTION. Did that

We populate the new user.h file with values used in from the user.h file in FOC. Did That

in LAB05b use we opened a c file called proj_lab05b.c and built our project. I noticed that LAB05c has no such file.

The errors I get are:

Description Resource Path Location Type

#10234-D  unresolved symbols remain                proj_lab05c                                       C/C++ Problem

unresolved symbol _main, first referenced in C:/ti/ccsv5/tools/compiler/c2000_6.2.0/lib/rts2800_ml.lib<args_main.obj> proj_lab05c C/C++ Problem

#10010 errors encountered during linking; "proj_lab05c.out" not built proj_lab05c C/C++ Problem

In addition to the USER_MOTOR settings, it is important that you copy ANY field that you modified as part of the previous labs or as part of your hardware design process into this new user.h file. Did That

I have removed and installed the project files several times, checked to make sure I was in MotorWare and in the right directory, don't know what the problem is. I could build the other projects just fine.

Can any one suggest what it might be that I need to do, or what the problem might be.

Thanks,

David

  • Hi David,

I have notified our expert. He should respond soon.

  • David,

Well, looks like you are having issues with importing projects or something....I've never seen so many issue with simple importing and compiling...I also notice that you have the old compiler installed (C:/ti/ccsv5/tools/compiler/c2000_6.2.0) ....I thought we fixed that? Did you open an old workspace or something?

It really isn't this difficult....we just must be speaking/writing in a different language....

As noted, I'm helping you directly on the InstaSPIN forum. Let's keep things in one place please....and I'm helping you next week with your motor, so save yourself some pain :)

  • Thank you, for kicks looked at the next project and it has a project xx. c file. I tried building that and got 7 errors instead of 5. I checked to make sure I was getting them from the right directory, it appears I am.

    I have also reloaded MotorWare.

    I can't believe the problems I've had.....

Thanks for notifying the expert and telling me. See attached error screen shot.

  • David,

These projects build completely fine if you point CCSv5.5 to the proper location, you don't change any of the CCS settings, and you have a compiler of 6.2.3 or higher installed.

We have thousands of people using MotorWare and no one else has these problems.

When your motor arrives I will get it running quickly and send you back everything you need so your engineers can run the motor through a GUI.

  • Well, all I can say is thanks, and I am impressed !! Did enjoy seeing the smile after "save me some pain" :) tho.

    and you are right.

    Speechless with humbleness.

    David
