Designing and Simulating Motor Driver Control

I am in the process of building a simple Motor Driver and Control model using Matlab/Simulink for driving both PMSM and ACIM motors. This model will mostly be used to optimize the power components (evaluating component voltages and current stresses).

My notes from TI's Industrial Control Workshop are not complete enough to help me design the PI controllers for speed and torque control.

1) I would appreciate any assistance regarding the guidelines for determining the optimum gains (Kp & Ki) for the Parallel PI Controllers given basic motor parameters.

2) Are there already Simulink models available?

Unfortunately, there aren't any Simulink models for this.

Mark,

Attached is simulink model for PMSM FOC control for Surface mount magnet motor i.e. Lsd=Lsq=Ls. I use this for my own understanding. It has 3-files, store them in same folder at your PC.

1. PMSM_Parameter: m-file, you can chage the motor parameter in this file, Presently it set for simulation of 24V/4000rpm anahiem motor that we supply with DRV8312 kit.

2. PMSM_Sim_sensor: simulink model

3. mid.m: m-file use for space vector PWM genration logic.

I hope this might be helpful to you.
