Connecting BOOSTXL-DRV8301 to DRV8301-LS31-KIT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8301, DRV8301

Can a BOOSTXL-DRV8301 be connected thru the External Control J5 connector so that the PWM signals can go to two DRV8301 driver devices.  I want to control two motors with the same PWM signals.

If so, what is the limit on how many, or is there a multiplexing or repeater circuit that can be used?

  • Alan,

The maximum devices that can be run by is decided by your PWM source current strength. As per data-sheet, max value of Input current of digital pins (when EN_GATE is high) is 100uA. So now you can estimate the PWM source current strength for given number of devices. For example, to run 2 devices with same PWM, it should be able to provide, 0.2mA of current.

I don't think we have any repeater circuit for this.
