I am looking at the DRV8303 motor driver, and wondering what the maximum delay is for the over-current short circuit protection. I see from the datasheet that the device will respond to an over-current event in 1.5us. However, since it is looking at the VDS across the FET to measure this current, it must first wait for the FET to turn on before sensing the VDS... so how long does it wait after turning on the FET before it looks at the VDS voltage? I'm mostly concerned about the case where the FET is turned on into an already shorted output. I want to know the maximum time the FET can be expected to remain on in this case before the DRV8303 will respond.
Thanks!
