Alternative to LM628

Hello everybody,

I am searching for an alternative to LM628 to read incremental encoder pulses at a frequency of about 2 MHz.

According to the LM628's data sheet, the maximum encoder signal frequency is 1 MHz.

I look forward to hearing from anyone.

Best regards,

Ahmed.

  • Hi Ahmed,
There does not appear to be an alternative to the LM628 that read incremental encoder pulses above 1MHz.
Can you provide you system requirements? Perhaps we can suggest an alternative part.
  • Hi Rick,

Thanks for your response. We are desining the electronic control system of an electromechanical materials testing machine. The maximum speed of the encoder pulses will be 1,7 MHz more or less. Our traditional electronic control card carries LM628. We are searching for an alternative part to meet this requirement.

I'm  trying to use the QEI module of a Tiva C Series Launchpad. Do you have any recomendation or advice in this regard?

    Best regards,

    Ahmed.

  • Hi Ahmed,
I don't have any experience with the QEI module. For questions regarding the QEI module, please check or post questions at the Stellaris® ARM® LM3S Microcontrollers Forum
