DRV8412 GUI connection.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8412, CONTROLSUITE

Hello all,

I am using a DRV8412  C2 Kit, and I am having issues with the GUI. I keep getting a connection issue with the TI board, I am able to connect the F28035 through CCS, I ran a couple of codes in CCS for motor control and one gave a fault on the DRV8412 Board. Ever since I can't make a connection to the GUI.

Here is what pops up. I even reflashed the ControlCard  Any help would be appreciated.

Location of DRV8412 PDF and GUI :

C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8412-C2-KIT_v131\~GUI

  • Hi Mohammed,

Remember that the .out version should match GUI version.Did you pay attention to that when reflash the card? The .out file is in the same folder with the GUI.

    Best regards,
  • Hello Wilson,

Yes I made sure the .out is in the same folder with the GUI. (both .out for both GUI are stored there). I even reinstalled Controlsuite just to make sure.

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8412-C2-KIT_v131\~GUI

I am curious could this be a fault in the DRV8412 board? Because I have tested multiple different F28035.
  • Hello Wilson,

Here is a picture of the .out file matching the gui. To make sure its all the same I reinstalled Controlsuit, and reflashed using 4 different F28035 Rev 1.3 controlcards, I used CCSV6 though( I will even use CCS V4 tomorrow to make sure thats not the issue)

If it happens to be a motor board problem, what should I measure on the motor board to know if it is or isn't a board issue?

  • Hi Mohammed

Have you read and follow the doc in your installed location like following. C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8412-C2-KIT_v131\~Docs

The "DRV8412-C2-KIT_HowToRunGuide.pdf" may be helpful to solve your problem. Pay attention to the +12V internal or external powered, and the switches status on the control card, the LED state in the control card. If the control card is correctly reflashed and powered, the connection should be able to be established even the DRV8412 portion is abnormal.

    Best regards,
