Hi All.

My customer is looking for stepping motor driver IC.

I want to ask you that Do DRV8825PWPR and DRV8818PWPR need to be attached radiator?

currently customer use the motor driver which needs to be attached radiator on front IC and back IC.

they don't want to do that.

I want to know is whether Do drv8825 and drv8818 need to be attached radiator to be cool down or not.

could you tell me ?

    Hi Takahashi-san,

    The DRV8825PWPR and DRV8818PWPR use the PCB to cool the device. Assuming there is enough copper on the board, the connection to the back of the IC should be sufficient. If your customer is interested, the DRV8825EVM and DRV8818EVM are available for evaluation of the device.

    What is the maximum ambient temperature of the system?
    What is the system voltage and the stepper motor current for this application?
