DRV8824 Safe Fault Condition For QA

Hi,

I'm interested in finding a method of creating a fault on the DRV8824 without damaging the chip. This would be done for QA on the product. If possible generating the fault condition from the motor connector would be preferable.

The type of internal chip fault doesn't matter. I would just like a way to force the fault output pin low.

Hi Douglas,

Overtemperature is an easy fault to create. You can add heat to the device while it is operating by placing the device in a heated air flow. An adjustable heat gun for shrink tubing is good for this job.

As the internal junction temperature exceeds 160C (typical), the ouputs will be disabled and nFAULT is asserted.
