Hello,

We are making New Design for motor Driving.

We want to drive Stepper motor with the use of DRV8834 and below detail mention stepper motor Specification.

Can we drive this motor using DRV8834?

If yes provide some reference Design.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, the DRV8834 can drive this motor.

Please refer to the DRV8834EVM as a reference design.

There are many other stepper motor drivers that can drive this motor available.

What is your system voltage?

our system voltage will be provided by battery li-ion 3.7v DC.

yes there are many driver available in TI but this driver has more features compare to other driver.

we are finalized this driver IC.

what is value of RAISEN & RBISEN for the sense resister ??
As par the DRV8834 EVM ???

Hi Haresh,

The EVM uses .2 Ohm resistors. This information is available in the DRV8834EVM users guide.

Hello Rick

Our stepper motor specification and supply source was mantion abow.

We are use capacitor for motor voltage is 10uF(electrolytic) and 0.01uF .

So this both capacitor is enough for the power suply of drv8834?

The values are a good starting point, but should be monitored during operation to determine if the voltage variations are acceptable.

We have few query related to DRV8834 which are listed below.

1 What is the different between Indexer Mode Driving a Stepper Motor and High-Resolution Micro stepping.

How we can achieve High-Resolution Micro stepping with MCU?

2 For the testing purpose we are using drv8834 motor driver with Ardunio Uno board, By using this stepper motor is working fine but motor is heating after some time.

Driver connection with arduino listed below

DIR - D8
STEP - D9
SLEEP - HIGH (Vdd)
GND - Arduino GND
GND - Motor power GND
M0 - D10
M1 - D11
ENABLE -D13
