DRV8308: Min speed - Speed limitation

Hi,

I would like to know which is the lowest speed we can get with DRV8308.

Until now, we have designed a PCB based on this driver and configure to run in a closs-loop mode and it works fine from 13Hz (200rpm) to 233Hz (3500rpm)

But when I try to run on lower speed, It doesn´t work properly.

I don´t know if there is any speed limitation or I have to check spi parameters again.

Hi Igor,

What speed are you trying to achieve? Do you know what the minimum speed of the motor is?

Hi Rick,

The idea is to get at least 50 or 100 rpm.

About the motor minimum speed, the motor I am working with is Nanotec DB59C024035-A.

Hi Igor,

As Rick stated, you may be limited the minimum speed of your motor.

You can try adjusting the AA_SETPT and the AG_SETPT limits so that they're below the minimum speed you're trying to run at.

I would also recommend testing the motor in open-loop mode to determine the minimum speed you can spin the motor at without the closed-loop functionality.
