DRV3201-Q1: ADREF Voltage

Hello,

Please answer following question from customer.

Customer is applying VDD5 of TPS65381-Q1 to ADREF terminal of DRV3201-Q1.

Specified accuracy of VDD5 is +/-2%(4.9V to 5.1V) but recommended operating condition of VDREF

voltage is 0.7V to 5V.

Please advise if any specified parameter of current sense amplifier will be degrading when 5.1V is applied to ADREF terminal.

Hi Ushikubo-san,

We do not expect any parameters to degrade based on the input you specified (4.9V to 5.1V), however many parameters are based on the actual voltage of ADREF, so the clamp voltage will be set based on your input.

What do you mean "many parameters are based on the actual voltage of ADREF"?

Let me double check that the ADREF is only used as a clamping voltage for O1/2/3/4 and thre is no other current sense parameter affected by changing the ADREF voltage?

Hi Tsuji-san,

I just mean in the datasheet there are parameters which directly reference ADREF, and yes it is only used as the clamping voltage.
