DRV8323: could DRV8323 can work well at above 2KW system?

Part Number: DRV8323

1.now we working on 2000W BLDC driver(input voltage is 24V,battery powered. the currrent will exceed 100A),  we selected  our TI's DRV8323H as mosfet driver,  we concern about could this device can work well at 2KW power? (we also know DRV8323H can work well at small power apolications ,for above 2KW power , we never evaluted it).

2.if yes.  you know, current sampling is very important for  board. do you have any advices on current sampling circuit? we found ti DRV8323 demo use nothing on sampling circuit .so could we add some low pass filter on this? For resistors and capacitors, you have the recommended values? thanks。

  • Hi bean,

    1) The DRV8323 does not have a power limitation since it is a gate driver. It does have limitations such as gate drive current which affect the switching speed, and absolute minimum voltages that could be exceeded at higher currents.

    2) Yes you can add some low pass filter. Adding a filter is dependent on many factors such as control algorithm, PWM frequency, and sampling frequency. Typically you would sample the current toward the end of the PWM cycle.
