DRV8800: DRV8800 Question

Part Number: DRV8800

Hi Team,

I verification DRV880 operation and has some question need you help.

May I know DS show shorted to gnd function same to OCP ? since we OUT+ shorted to GND occur IC damage. (@ RSENSE 0.33 ohm)

  • Hi Kuo John,

If the output is high and shorted to GND, this would be considered an overcurrent (OCP) event. The device should protect itself by disabling the outputs as described in section 9.3.10 of the datasheet.

Would you provide a diagram of the test performed?
    What were the input states?
How was OUT+ shorted to GND?
    What type of damage occurred?
