DRV8320: DRV8320H direction control pin

DRV8320H is used in 1 x pwm mode and three hall sensors are used.

Is it possible to control the direction of spin (clockwise and counter-clockwise) by hardware control pin?

Hi na na78,

In DRV8320H when 1x PWM is used, the INHC pin controls the direction of the motor (clockwise or counterclockwise). See figure 19 from the datasheet.

Hi na na78,

The INHC input controls direction in 1x PWM mode. Please refer to section 8.3.1.1.3 of the datasheet for details:

The INHC input controls the direction through the 6-step commutation table which is used to change the direction
of the motor when Hall effect sensors are directly controlling the state of the INLA, INHB, and INLB inputs. Tie
the INHC pin low if this feature is not required.

I understood.

Regarding to mode configuration for 1x PWM, I can refer MODE pin = Hi-Z from datasheet.
I could not get " MODE pin = Hi-Z".
What is the connection of MODE pin for 1x PWM?

hello na na78,

"Hi-Z" means high-impedance, with no forced voltage on the pin.

So if you disconnect the MODE pin from any net (leave it floating), it will be Hi-Z.

Hi na na78,

The MODE pin should be left floating for 1x PWM mode. The pin has an internal pullup and pulldown resistor to create ~2V.
