DRV8873-Q1: GUI for DRV8873-Q1EVM not Running on Windows XP/7 , giving error message "Windows Script Host " error.

we got  the software files for DRV8873-Q1 EVM evaluation board , and installed it on Windows XP/windows 7 but in both versions the Software is not running there is a "Windows Sript Host" error . 

But found that it is running fine on Windows 10 , so some one send the solution to eliminate the error in Windows 7/XP  or send software files compatible with them.

Our experts believe this to be a 32 bit/64 bit Window machine issue.

A new file Setup_DRV8873Q1-1.0.0A_EVM.exe has been added. Please try it and report if the error message is removed.

Like your response said we identified the issue is between 32 bit and 64 bit windows machine ,

But the .exe you provided is also giving a error box , but this time there are 2 error boxes and  the error code is also different .

It says "The procedure entry point releaseSRWLockExclusive could not locate the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

and next error says"Windows Script error "

"script :C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DRV8873-Q1\launcher\oneui_nw_launch.vbs"

"Line: 42"

"char: 1"

"error: Path not found"

"code: 800A004c"

"source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error"

Please let us know the exact detail on the type of windows machine in which the above issue is occurring.

Is the OS Windows XP or Windows 7?

Is it a 32 bit or 64 bit windows machine?

Also try uninstalling the previous version from Control Panel / Programs and Features and install the new exe.

The problem is on Windows XP , x86 (32 bit ) machine.

And yes , we did try uninstalling previous version and then installed the new .exe , but still there is a error box.

The exe is not compatible with Windows XP.

Could you test it in Windows 7 and see if the problem persists?

We tried the old .exe(64 bit ) on the windows 7 and it worked , but we need a .exe that can run on Windows XP (32 bit ) .

Hi Purna,

The GUI is designed for Windows 7 and Windows 10. There is no support for Windows XP.
