If any interest in DRV8870 not universally driving small brushed motors (<2amp)and problem with suppressor cap across motor at frequency >100Hz causing motor to ran away with no further control.

  • Hi Bob,

    Did you have a question?
  • If you are responding to Bob Sherwood sherwood195000@aol.com then you may have read my original sub.

I have created a PWM model rail controller using the 8870 and I am offering it to the market but I may have to concede defeat and withdraw them from sale..

In some circumstances the output seems to freeze and I suspect that it is being caused by a shoot-through criticality or  a sensitivity to current limiting shutdown.

It is extraordinary that if a volt ohm meter is placed in one output line to measure current then this does not occur, sismilarly if one of the feed wires is approx 12'' longer, pointing to an edge timing problem,

If you can give me an email address I will send the circuit and from there you may be able to advise..
