Need a circuit for powering an electrode plate with 12v 50A using a 12V source

My requirement is to get a circuit which helps to power an electrode (12V/50A) using a PWM control and a 12V DC voltage source. Please help me find suitable TI components for the same. Also suggest me some TI processor capable of producing PWM and for IOT application.

Hello Renveer,

I guess I don't understand the requirement - if you already have 12V/50A available, why do you need a power design to generate the same?

Please enlighten me as to the need behind this request.

I apologise for that. Actually My power source is solar panels and I meant to control the electrode using PWM Based signal from the MCU. Please let me know which possible TI parts can be used on that for the same.

RENVEER,

C2000 MCUs are all capable of complex PWM generation, C2000 may not have what you need for IOT though.

I think MSP432 can drive PWMs and some of them have ethernet, which may help you.

If youre looking for something wireless:

As a c2000 engineer I'm certainly not well versed with all TI devices, but wanted to mention a few of the possible solutions. There may be, and probably are, other good solutions.

Can you please suggest possible TI MOSFETS for bridging low power PWM signal with high current low voltage (50A/12V) system.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with high current FETs.

Have you checked if there are TI Designs that fit your requirements?

Sounds like an interesting project!

Perhaps easiest for you would be to use one of our Power Stages - you can find a selection guide at:
www.ti.com/.../overview.html

If you can't find the voltage/current combination you need, you can use a discrete FET with a driver like LM5109B:

You might find the solar TI Designs here interesting, although they are generally more complex than your system with the final output being AC voltage to power the grid:

I think it would be beneficial if you provide a block diagram of this system, please, and the sections of the design where you are asking for design assistance. I'm not sure if you still need PWM-generation, or power interface to the solar panels, or power processing of the panels, or all of the above.

The PWM generation is necessary to control the electrodes. I found a design which might be suitable which is attached here

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, so it's hard for me to say if this circuit can be used. If you need PWM, that circuit definitely generates PWM from a dc source.

I think you probably need to convert the output of your solar panels to 12V, and then if your plating process requires PWM, use some kind of circuit like you've posted above.
