TIDA-00281: Isolated flyback transformer 750315511 not available

Part Number: TIDA-00281
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210-Q1, UCC27201A

In the TI Design TIDA-00281, in the flyback circuit, they have used a isolated flyback transformer  750315511 mfg. @Wurth Electronics. But i was unable to find that in any of the source. though the picture of the pcb of the above design clearly shows this transformer, but isn't there @wurth. so kindly suggest me something regarding this or suggest me some alternative.

  • Harshit, hello and thank you for yor interest in Texas Instruments TI Designs. Your query has been received and forwarded to the design owners from our Automotive Systems team. You should be receiving a response in the next 1-2 business days.

  • Harshit,

I've inserted the datasheet for the Wurth transformer below.  As discussed in the reference guide (page 21)

The secondary 12-V supply (12V_B) is not directly regulated by the TPS40210-Q1, but is indirectly regulated through the
coupling to the 5-V primary winding (5V_A). Precise regulation is not needed for the 12V_B supply, because the
UCC27201A gate drivers tolerate a wide input voltage for their bias supply, and because the signal conditioning
components in the feedback paths (which do require tight regulation) are supplied by a 3.3-V supply from the buck
regulator discussed in the next section.

The UCC27201A supply is specified from 8V to 17V, so any triple winding transformer with similar parameters will be acceptable.

I have also contacted Wurth who will release this part number as a catalog part.  You may want to contact your local Wurth Electronics representative.

    Best regards,

    Clark
