Hi

I am a teaching prof at univeristy of ontario and need info on TIDA-00111. I need to know how this board is programmed? what software is used ?Is the software free ?

Is there any educational board for universities similar to this that has the stepper motor controller that can be programmed like in a C environment ?

Thanks

  • Hi Masoud,

The board is a DRV8818EVM and is available through store.ti.com

The board is programmed using a store.ti.com/msp-fet.aspx , also available at store.ti.com

Code composer Studio was used to develop and program the device. This is available for free also.

There are other boards also available, such as the BOOST-DRV8711. With a MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad , the DRV8711 can be used for multiple applications. The device can be used for both stepper motors and brushed dc motors.
  • Hi Rick,

Thanks for the detail info . We need a lab solution for a stepper motor experiment . Do you have any lab experiment written on DRV8818EVM including the program ?
Do you have any lab trainer for stepper motor that can be programmed by students?

Or at least a sample project done with DRV8818EVM that has a program already written for it?

    Thanks
  • Hi Masoud,

The firmware is provided on line with the DRV8818EVM. The code is designed to used with a GUI, but can be modified using code composer and an emulation tool.
