Dra74xx Linux - Support for 4 video outputs

Hi,

I need to use four video outputs at once on a custom board based on DRA74x. Configuration will be 3xLCD (over FPDlink) + 1xHDMI, using Linux as the OS.

From what I can see from the TRM, the processor has the required capability, but I cannot find informations on actual implementations of such a setup.

1) Was such support ever tested? If yes, on what version of GLSDK/PSLA?

2) Is there any constrain in term of resolution/frequency/synchronization between displays?

My main concern is related to PLLs generating required clocks (as 2 PLLs have to be shared among 3 video outputs): if all three LCD outputs are enabled, LCD2 does not work correctly (e.g. when kmscube is launched on LCD3 and then killed, line artifacts are seen on LCD2).

Hi,

We have only tested 3 simultaneous displays on DRA74x using Processor SDK - Linux Automotive 3.01. We tested LCD, HDMI and another LCD connected over FPDLink. We have not tested four simultaneous displays.

Can you provide more information on the setup? What are the resolutions of the LCD's you are planning to use? Are all three LCD's identical? What is resolution of the HDMI display you will be using?

Hi,
the three LCDs will be identical 1280x800px panels connected over FPDlink.
HDMI display will be 1920x720px.

Currently we have two LCDs over FPDlink and one HDMI and the setup is working well.

Hi,
Did you have the chance to test the setup described in this topic? so are 4 display output supported simultaneusly.
We have also another application where we need to drive 2 VOUT by using same PLL but this looks like to be not out of the box.

Can you help?

We have not tested four displays on J6 as the EVM as only 3 display outputs. I have replied to your other question.
