UART boot procedure for new BSP version(3.02.00.03)

We use DRA742 platform, and we used 7.04.00.03 BSP version before. We can boot from UART according to "DRA7xx_GLSDK_Software_Developers_Guide".

Now, we change to new BSP version(3.02.00.03), is there has new UART procedure for this new BSP version?

Because according to "DRA7xx_GLSDK_Software_Developers_Guide", i need to change DEFAULT_UBOOT_CONFIG to dra7xx_evm_uart3_config and build image(u-boot-spl.bin and u-boot.img) for UART loading, but it will cause error while making image(error message: can't find dra7xx_evm_uart3_config).

Can anyone provide me UART boot procedure for 3.02.00.03 BSP version, thanks.

Hi Shawn,

the U-boot in PSDKLA 3.02.00.03 do not support UART:

Thanks for your reply. So if i try to use UART boot, then i have to use older version of BSP, right?

Hi Shawn,

The SDK 7.04.00.03 uses U-boot ver. 2014.07 while newest SDK's use 2016.05 and I guess there are some changes in the U-boot that prevent using the uart boot.

I will ping U-boot expert to comment if there is a possibility to use uart boot with new SDK.

The new u-boot does not support UART bootmode.
Why do you want to use UART boot mode only ?

You can use usb peripheral boot mode. refer to SPL/DFU boot mode in User's Guide. Just you need to connect the USB0 (superspeed) port of EVM to ubuntu PC and load MLO and u-boot from PC host.
