Hi Ram,

I have some questions for vc1.

1. can not parse w/h from stream header, whose procedure is the same as mpeg4/h264/mpeg2. but is not work for vc1.

2. VIDDEC3_process returns fatal error for vc1 stream, and I ensure the stream is right and set the right param.

Whether this is the known issue?

Hi Gao,
I am not sure if this feature is supported or not. I just referred userGuide of VC1 decoder. There are some contradictory statements.
1) Section 4.2.1.8 ---> decodeHeader Description says XDM_PARSE_HEADER NOT SUPPORTED
2) In FAQ section 5.3, it says header decoding is supported
3) There is no Appendix guide in UserGuide on ParseHeader

I will confirm if this is supported or not.

Hi Gao,
I am seeing same issue.
With entire frame filled, I see extendedError 80108000.
Appendix 9 in the VC1 decoder has some information . It says for XDM_PARSE_HEADER only header should be passed and no payload data.
Is your application taking care of this?

Can you please share the extended error code from codec at your side. And the stream you use?

Hi Prashanth,

With the stream header, the extended error code is also 0x80108000, which means IVC1DEC_ERR_SEQHDR/IVC1DEC_ERR_PICSIZECHANGE/XDM_FATALERROR.

I dump the stream header out, which size is 22 bytes, show as blow：

0000: 27, 00, 00, 01, 0f, cb, be, 16, 71, 1f, 88, 80, 00, 00, 01, 0e,
0010: 10, c4, 59, c4, 7c, 80,

The vc1 file is too big to attach.

Hi Gao,

Thanks for the details. I couldn't see error with my standalone setup. Can you try with this stream and share your observation? This is 176x144 stream.airshow_p176x144_nv12.zip

Hi Gao,

Thanks for the stream. By analysing the stream,

Not an RCV file containing VC1 data, or no sequence layer present. Vega shows"Expected frame start code not found".

VC1 streams, with this type of start code is not supported. Basically it comes with 2 version, but we support only one.

One decoding Header, Could you try with the stream which I provided? It works fine for me in standalone setup.

Hi Prashanth,
The vc1 file you provided I can not try with, because ffmepg does not support this format.
VC1 stream I provided is not supported by TI decoder, which is enough for me. And I will try other vc1 streams.
