RTOS/TMDSEVM572X: Sending data from PRU to A15

Part Number: TMDSEVM572X

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

I am having GP EVM AM572x(processor_sdk_rtos_am57xx_3_02_00_05).

I want to send data from PRU to ARM a15 core in a application which is running on TI RToS.

Is there any lab available for TI_RTOS where the data communication between ARM and PRU is explained.

Thanks,

Anjana Pathak

  • The RTOS team have been notified. They will respond here.

  • Hi Anjana,

I believe you will want to look into IPC component. Please refer to the following links to help you get started.

    Thanks for the information..
IPC is designed for use on processors running SYS/BIOS applications.
in my case Host ARM is running as sys/bios application and PRU is programmed as bare metal.
The PRU will read some data from its GPI and this data is to be shared to arm a15.
I am not able to understand how this can be achived..
  • In reply to Anjana Pathak0:

    Hi Anjana,

We don't have any bare-metal IPC examples, but you can use mailbox to notify/interrupt the PRU. You can refer to the PRU rpmsg communication mechanism used in Linux - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU-ICSS_Remoteproc_and_RPMsg

Alternatively, you can place a single bit in memory and poll it to notify read and write operations.

But this mechanism is used in Linux. if i want to use it in TI RTOS is it possible to communicate...
