AM3359 Custom board wont boot with out console attached??
Recently we created a board based on the AM335x evm and beaglebone boards to get a custom am3359 board with 512 ddr2 ram. In trying to create a cost effective board we eliminated the usb hub and ftdi jtag/console chip. The console output was brought out to a .1" header to be used with an ftdi usb serial cable. The issue is that the device only boots when the console cable is attached. What i am wondering is do the uart0 pins need to be pulled to a certain level before the device will boot. On our beagle bone it appears the ftdi chip is pulling these pins to 3.3v. Currently we are booting in the same configuration as the beaglebone with a 24mhz crystal and booting from sd.
