HDMI output during uBoot on BBB

Hi Dean,

I'm not sure about the community Angstrom distribution, but our TI SDKs do not have any drivers for either the LCD controller or HDMI transmitter in u-boot; it is all contained within the kernel.

However, I have seen a couple cases of LCD drivers being ported to u-boot from our Starter Kit package, which has low level code that is easier to integrate than the kernel drivers (searching through this forum should yield a couple of posts about this).  I have never heard of anyone porting the drivers for the HDMI transmitter to u-boot, though.

I haven't had any luck finding Starterware code for HDMI output. Unless I'm completely missing something it appears like "Black" HDMI code is completely missing from any Startware.

Hey Dean,

There is indeed no HDMI drivers implemented in Starterware--sorry if I wasn't clear about that in my previous post.  The closest thing there is are LCD drivers in starterware that can be ported to u-boot, but that would only allow you to interface to an LCD.

Just revisiting the "HDMI" output on the BBB : at this point has anyone managed to get HDMI working during uBoot or under Starterware ?
