Which Audio protocol is supported by AM335x?

I want use an old AC'97 audio device connect with AM335x, the Ubuntu OS is expected. but I haven't seen any declaration that Ac'97 is supported. is MxASP compatible with AC'97?

if possible, do I have to code the driver or TI already provided the driver?

If not, which audio chip can be supported by AM335x? ( I expect analog stereo output which can directly drive ear phone)

It should be possible, but TI reference designs only are designed with i2s audio codecs. According the McASP driver, AC97 support exists (see here). Furthermore, this commit from one of the current TI driver developers mentions that AC97 should work now in 3.12 and beyond, but it hasn't been tested by TI (so there might be some kinks you have to work out).
