Hi Sir:

I use AM3358 on my custom board.

My u-boot is u-boot-2013.01.01-psp06.00.00.00

When I use nand flash to boot up our system, u-boot hang up.

Below is the log.

Is there something that I should take attention about flashing image from SD to nand?

My sysboot setting is 00100b and my system works when boot up from SD.

Please give me your suggestion!

Hi Marcus,

Judging by the U-Boot version, you seem to be using SDK v6, right?

Here are the steps to flash the NAND device using SDK v6:

U-Boot# mmc rescan
U-Boot# nand erase.chip
U-Boot# fatload mmc 0 0x81000000 MLO
U-Boot# cp.b 0x81000000 0x81020000 20000
U-Boot# cp.b 0x81000000 0x81040000 20000
U-Boot# cp.b 0x81000000 0x81060000 20000
U-Boot# fatload mmc 0 0x81080000 u-boot.img
U-Boot# fatload mmc 0 0x81280000 uImage
U-Boot# fatload mmc 0 0x81780000 ubi.img
U-Boot# nand write 0x81000000 0x0 0x2000000
U-Boot# saveenv

However, after I do what you suggest, the u-boot still hang up while I use nand flash to boot up system.

My SDK is v6.

I wonder if problem is caused by flashing command steps.

Try to enable #define DEBUG inside <u-boot_dir>/include/common.h and rebuild the MLO and u-boot.img, then flash them to NAND and see if anything useful would be shown in the console.

Can you check the size of the MLO and u-boot flashed on the NAND and the same used during flashing to NAND device

This problem is caused by nand flash bad block.

After changing nand flash, this problem has been solved.
