Hi all,


Good morning. Presently I am working with AM3352 processor and I have small clarification about Oscillator and Crystal . Let me know what will be the difference between connecting Oscillator( OSC0_IN) & Crystal to the AM3352   ( OSC0_IN & OSC0_OUT)

And also which one is better to use either Oscillator or Crystal???

    Hi Saravanan,

    Please read sections 6.2.1, 6.2.2.1 and 6.2.2.2 of the AM335X Datasheet Rev. G. Also note that if using an external oscillator, its output swing must be 1.8V. Other than that there is no specific reason for choosing oscillator vs. crystal. Price may be a deciding factor. Also if highly stable clock is required by your application and/or you need to share the clock with other peripherals, then an external oscillator may be the better choice.
