Getting started with TMDSSK3358

Hello,

I just received my new TI development kit and have come to a standstill. I have tried both the Linux and Android microSD cards in my hardware. The only thing I can get the board to do is display the Power LED and D1, D2, D3, D4 LEDs. There is no activity on the LCD display and no USB enumeration observed on my PC when the board is plugged in via the USB cable. Is there anything that I am missing? The Quick Start guide was simple enough to follow but I don't observe any activity with my hardware.

Hi Mehmood,

Sorry to hear this. What you could do is check if there isn't a stuck pushbutton on the board, and check the SD cards. The next wisest thing in my opinion is to contact the company that sold you the EVM and ask them how to proceed for eventual replacement/repair.

Hi Biser,

Thanks very much for your prompt reply. I did verify that the images on both the Linux and Android SD cards were valid. I also double-checked for any stuck buttons but didn't see any. I contacted TI Support as I purchased the kit directly from them.

Incidentally, how long should the hardware take to boot up and display the menu screen on the LCD?

A few seconds after you turn on the board you should see display activity. Since you earlier said that there is no enumeration over the USB too, I suspect that there is some malfunction.
