AM3359ZCZ - UBOOT

Hello TI,

I have a customer using the AM3359ZCZ and TPS65217BRSLT.

Their configured boot order is: UART0, XIP, MMC0, NAND. Currently booting from MMC0. Then, when they try to do a warm reset (u-boot reset or Linux reboot), it doesn’t go to the MMC0 but keeps trying the UART0. Same thing apparently happens with another product of theirs when booting from NAND.

Question: Do we need to modify UBOOT and the kernel?

Hi Dan,

Ask your customer to check the state of the SYSBOOT pins after the warm reset. It could be changed from default by external devices attached to these pins.

The logic states applied to SYSBOOT inputs are only latched on the rising edge of PWRONRSTn, so the SYSBOOT register value should not change as a result of warm reset.

Hello TI,

This didn't answer my question. Customer can't do a warm restart. Per Software - when they try and do a warm restart device goes to the UART and stays there. It won't boot from MMC.

Do they have anything connected to UART0 when this happens? Debug console? What terminal do they use? Can they try to disconnect from UART0 immediately after the reboot command?
