How to build spidev1.0 and spidev0.0 in Beagle bone

Hi,

I am new to Beagle bone. My beagle bone is booting up and I can login as root.

I trying to build SPI drivers spidev0.0, and spidev1.0

Please teach me how to build spidev0.0 and spidev1.0 in the kernel.

Hi,

As per the above link suggested, I have tried to give as mentioned in the link ls -la /dev/spi*

root@am335x-evm:~# ls -la /dev/spi*
ls: /dev/spi*: No such file or directory
root@am335x-evm:~#

Please help me in this regard.

Ramesh,

Can you try to follow these instructions:
elinux.org/BeagleBone_Black_Enable_SPIDEV ?

Or modify your beaglebone device tree file, by adding the nodes described in the link above ?

Hi,

I have copied elinux.org/.../BB-SPI1-STD-01-00A0.txt and when I try to compile using

dtc -O dtb -o BB-SPI1-01-00A0.dtbo -b 0 -@ BB-SPI1-01-00A0.dts

There is an error generating at '@'

I am placing the log for your reference:

dtc: invalid option -- '@'
Usage:
dtc [options] <input file>

Options:
-h
This help text
-q
Quiet: -q suppress warnings, -qq errors, -qqq all
-I <input format>
Input formats are:
dts - device tree source text
dtb - device tree blob
fs - /proc/device-tree style directory
-o <output file>
-O <output format>
Output formats are:
dts - device tree source text
dtb - device tree blob
asm - assembler source
-V <output version>
Blob version to produce, defaults to 17 (relevant for dtb
and asm output only)
-d <output dependency file>
-R <number>
Make space for <number> reserve map entries (relevant for
dtb and asm output only)
-S <bytes>
Make the blob at least <bytes> long (extra space)
-p <bytes>
Add padding to the blob of <bytes> long (extra space)
-b <number>
Set the physical boot cpu
-f
Force - try to produce output even if the input tree has errors
-s
Sort nodes and properties before outputting (only useful for
comparing trees)
-v
Print DTC version and exit
-H <phandle format>
phandle formats are:
legacy - "linux,phandle" properties only
epapr - "phandle" properties only
both - Both "linux,phandle" and "phandle" properties

Please help me in this regard.
