Hi:

I am planning to do the profibus project base on AM3356, so I first run the profibus slave demo of TI on the TI's ICE V1.0 demo board. I use the profitrace as the profibus master to connect with the demo board. I set the GSD file, begin the demo code, and run wizard of ProfiTrace, profitrace has found the EVM3359 device but it is marked in yellow, which means device missed, while in manual, it is said that the device will be detect and marked with green ( device detected). I just follow the instrument of TI's wiki for profibus dp slave demo setup in AM335x. What is the problem?

Hi,Which version of ISDK are you using?
Hope you are referring to this document: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PROFIBUS_DP_slave_demo_setup_on_AM335x
Can you please check the DP status from the UART console and verify if it's 80/81?

Hi:

I used am335x_sysbios_ind_sdk_1.1.0.4, and follow the wiki's document's guide.

The environment I used is below

compiler: TIV5.1.1

SYS/BIOS: 6.33.5.46

XDCtools: 3.25.3.72

I have get the DP status through UART console, it is remain in 00

what I wonder is that the Profitrace has found the device, why it will report the device is lost.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Can you please share the Profitrace Message logs?

Another thing: Pins 1 and 2 on Jumper J6 are the first 2 pins from the left side as shown in the image in the wiki link - just making sure as it is not very clear.

Hi Shen,

I am also trying out the profibus dp slave demo on ICE v2. Can u please tell me, what did you use as a profibus master? Can we use PC as master, if yes what additional hardware is required?
