a flicker issue on 32bit surface

Hi, we have a flicker issue on AM335x platform, and we could reproduce it on different boards, such evm and beaglebone black. I send you a high-speed recording as attached and a screen-shot below to show what the flicker looks like. What I debug now is that it seems happen on rgbx8888 32 bit surface, but not on rgb565 surface. Also, it seems happen on changing surface on layer, and no problem after surface binding. Any suggestion where the problem might be? Thank! -Dennis

Please post what software is being used. So far such an issue hasn't been reported on this forum.

We are using our own driver. If a dump of LCD Registers could help? if so, i can provide this information.

Is SGX rendering the scene or some SW library - in which case, caching errors could lead to artifacts like these. Please confirm.

it is SGX rendering. Initially, I also suspect cache, however, the noise seem occur at always certain positions, which confuse me.

I confirm again that the problem happens on rgbx8888 32 bit surface only, but not on rgb565 surface.

also, we check cache setup, we do not use cached memory for the surface which was in problem

All our SGX demos run in 32 bit mode and we test it for 24 hours long and do not see any problem. Can you try to run our SGX out of box demos and see how they behave at your end? The demos can be found in /ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00/bin/rootfs/usr/bin/SGX/demos/Raw. Suggest that you try OGLES2ChameleonMan demo and let us know how it behaves at youe end. If you can share your program, we can try to replicate the issue at our end.
