I am new at using TI processors. I want to develope "main system controller" by using AM3358 processor. In our system all of the sensor and IO boards communicates with main system controller over CAN Bus. This CAN Bus communication should be robust and realtime, it should not be effected from the other linux applications. So what I am asking is that is it possible to write a program to send and to get messages from CAN Bus which will be running on a PRU.

Hi Okan,

Do you mean that you want to control the CAN module from the PRU, or you want to implement a software CAN on it?

Hi Biser,

I want to control CAN module from PRU. As I was trying to say, I want to send and receive CAN Bus Messages within the program runs on PRU.

Okan,

Since the DCAN peripheral's registers are memory mapped and since the PRU cores have access to the global memory map then yes it should be possible to control the DCAN from a PRU program.
