AM335x EVM Booting

Hi,

Check your SD card. You will find images and instructions for creating the SD card on the Linux SDK download page: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

OK, that means that the processor is alive and trying to find a device to boot from. There are several possibilities: the SD card might be unreadable or wrongly prepared, the SD card slot might be broken, or you may be using the wrong SD card slot. It must be this one:

The baseboard SD card slot is the one shown on the picture above. View is from the bottom. You can boot only from this slot. The daughterboard is the one on top of the baseboard. Check this wiki for hardware information on the AM335X GP EVM: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_General_Purpose_EVM_HW_User_Guide

SW4 must be placed in the same position as shown here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_U-Boot_User's_Guide

You can build the images as shown bellow: 
cd ~/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00

To build MLO & u-boot, execute: 

cd ~/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00/board-support/u-boot-2015.07+gitAUTOINC+d49aa5effa 

make am335x_evm_config

make -j4

To build zImage, execute: 

cd ~/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00/board-support/linux-4.1.6+gitAUTOINC+52c4aa7cdb-g52c4aa7 

make tisdk_am335x-evm_defconfig

make -j4

From this I can see that initial bootloader is starting (U-boot SPL). However the version is totally outdated. You need to prepare a new card. Follow the instructions on the SDK download page: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html under "AM335x Linux SDK SD Card Creation". Download the zip package and create a fresh SD card.
