Any ePaper(large eInk) options with TI's current line up in mind?
I am new to the TI eco system.
Research shows that few years back in 2010-2013 period TI had ePaper targeted products such as the OMAP 3621
www.ti.com/.../swpt046.pdf
eReaders fell out of fashion and TI's OMAP3' OMAP4, OMAP5 forums all closed .
I am looking into developing a product with eInks current 2016 circa displays 6"Carta and/or 13.3" eInk(like Sony DPT-S1).
Do I have any options in the TI products line up and if yes where should I be looking?
P.S. The now legacy OMAP 3621 processor talks a good game "software epd controller", resolutions suffice most eInk displays available today and it can drive dual displays LCD and Eink same time.
Eink used eink Pearl screens when the OMAP 3621 was around and those screens are used today.
Is there an up to date TI 2016 product that can be made to interface as a "software epd" on par with OMAP 3621(or better)?
Would it be possible to port legacy code such as OMAP 3621 waveforms, drivers that were used on EPD screens etc...
Thanks for your input regarding TI Sitara.
Does that also mean that all other concievable TI products(or combination there of) can not be used to efficiently produce the waveforms that the old OMAP 3621 was capable of producing through DSP/ADC years ago.
Would be kind of sad if true.
I didn't say that it isn't possible, only that there is no support from TI. Anyway you will need an ARM/DSP combination for this, and from the Sitara family only the new AM57X processors have this.
