Hi,

I'm working on a AM572x Evaluation Board that has Arch Linux installed on it. I was wondering if TI has released any other distros (e.g., Ubuntu ARM etc, or any more powerful versions of linux) that work on this board. It will make my life a lot easier in terms of installing packages etc. If TI does not have it and if you know of an obvious replacement that might work on this board, kindly point me towards it.

Hi,

What is this AM572x Evaluation Board? The TI AM572x GP EVM comes with the Arago Linux distribution from TI. No other Linux distros are supported by TI.

It's a Sitara AM572x (AM5728) processor (Arm Cortex-A15) that comes with a touchscreen display board (It says Sitara AM572x Evaluation Module* on the box) Link: www.ti.com/.../TMDSEVM572X.
I was trying to replace (via a new bootable SD card) the current distro with something more user-friendly (e.g. preferably a Ubuntu or Linaro ARM with a desktop, from other websites). I will try to create a bootable SD card and see if it works on the board.

When you say TI doesn't support any other Linux other than Arago, you mean there are no hardware packs (hwpack) that you have released, that will make any other ARM Linux filesystem work on your hardware?
