Hi everyone,

i want to use QSPI boot for my board. i am used to use AISGEN tools to grenerate a image from *.out file to *.bin file when developping a project on OMAPL138, and what i need to do is just writing the *.bin file to the flash at that time. I want to know what tool i can used for generating an image for AM437x prcessors, which contains all the format imformation.

Hi Biser,

Thank you for your recommendation. But what i want to generate is a file acting as a uboot, and the compiler i am use now is TI's compiler, not GCC tool. So could you tell me what tool i can use to generate an image from the RAW *.out file?

The BootROM on Sitara devices doesn`t use AIS formatted boot images. It uses General purpose header/trailer format as specified in the TRM document for the device. The boot tools to convert .out to .bin as provided as part of the Processor SDK RTOS and the description of the process to generate a boot image is provided here:

For all cortexA8 and A9 devices, we recommend and support only the GNU GCC compiler which is also part of our CCS offering . However, even if choose to use TI compiler, your output binary should be in ELF binaary format which can be converted to bin format using objcopy utility that is part of the GCC compiler provided with CCS and the ti_image utility that is provided in the SDK.
