Linux/AM5728: Slow video performance

Hi. We finished as below it.

- 2D GPU(GC320) takes alpha blending with three 1280x720 surface for 60 FPS

- Three display(HDMI, LCD, LCD) with 60FPS, 30FPS, 30FPS

- VPE takes deinterlace with two 1080i contents for 60FPS

- 3D GPU takes alpha blending and shader program with four 1280x720 surface

When 3D GPU take alpha blending and shader program five surface instead of four surface, other IP(2D GPU, DSS) don't have 60FPS.

we doubt if memory bandwidth don't have enough.

when i use glsdkstatcoll, cmd_pend of glsdkstatcoll is 85%(EMIF1 and EMIF2). if cmd_pend of EMIF is over 85%, Is it right performance of system have too slow ?

yes, DDR bandwidth must be becoming bottleneck. With dual emif in interleaved mode, DDR throughput of 65% to 70% is realistic to achieve. With single emif, DDR throughput drop to 60%.

You can try playing with DMM peg priority register to give the starving master higher priority to access DDR. Check this e2e post on same -

Hi.

we try to it. as your talk(devmem2 0x4E000624 w 0x48444444).

but, we don't have video 60fps.

I think that two video decode, 2d gpu, 3d gpu and three display have difficuluty to keep 60FPS at DDR3 533MHz.
