Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Displaying logo during kernel boot

Hello,

A simpler solution would be to build the lcd module as Linux kernel module rather then building it as part of Linux image. And once on your application startup load the module and progam the LCD.

Which Linux version are you using?

PSP is ti-sdk-am335x-evm-06.00.00.00. and kernel version is linux-3.2.0-psp04.06.00.11.

Which driver are you using for the LCD ? In your Linux config file you will have "CONFIG_LCD_YOURS=y" you need to change this "CONFIG_LCD_YOURS=m". This will build the lcd driver as a module your_lcd.ko

This your.lcd.ko needs to be copied in your filesystem. And when your application is ready you can insert this module
(ex: insmod <path to file in your filesystem>/ your_lcd.ko)

Our Team want to solve this problem by modify kernel lcd module code.because of the custom kernel stability.

Where and when the module have modified the lcd showing property.

Why the u-boot boot log was disappeared?

You should check and remove LCDC initialization from the kernel driver code.

I have tryed the method you gived me as follow;


config the kenel : <M> DA8xx/OMAP-L1xx Framebuffer support

make mdoules.


four modules have build and insert


insmod /mnt/autobuild/cfbcopyarea.ko
insmod /mnt/autobuild/cfbfillrect.ko
insmod /mnt/autobuuild/cfbimgblt.ko
insmod /mnt/autobuild/da8xx-fb.ko

run my application,and lcd showing is all right.


But shut down and reboot


the log showed in u-boot was cleared in kernel and this time application,the four modules havn't inserted.


why my log showed in u-boot is disappeared?
