Linux/BEAGLEBOARD-X15: Disabling debug UART

I would like to use the debug UART and its pins for other means besides console output. How do I set this up?

Hello Alexander,

Try redirecting the console messages to another unused tty or /dev/null.
=> setenv console tty2 or => setenv console /dev/null from U-Boot.

Tried this, it disabled the console, but UART3 was also disabled at the same time. I would like to use UART3 pins for a different reason.

I've notice in the u-boot menu, that stderr, stdin, and stdout all equal serial@48020000. And ttyS2 is the same.
