Linux/am3352: MLO fails

Part Number: AM3352

Tool/software: Linux

I am trying to boot latest SDK (ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-04.01.00.06) on working hardware.  The design seems mostly based on 335x-evmsk.  Currently I have an MLO that works on a ti development board (evm) but locks up when I try to load it on my custom hardware.  I do not see any output on the serial port when I insert the SD.

So:  Looking around the ti forums I found a couple of descriptions of the function calls to start the MLO, but now that I really want them I can't find them, can anyone point me to something like that?

Also, I put a scope on the clock signal of the SD card and I see the following.

Before SD insertion: i see multiple bursts of clock signals with pauses between them.

After SD insertion: I see a continuous burst of clock signals then nothing.  Off the top of my head I think this is not enough data for whole MLO and processing is possibly stopping in PPL. Would love if someone had some ideas on what to look at next.
