Part Number: TAS5760M
One of our customers is looking for the Group Delay spec for the TAS5760M. The customer will be using a sample rate of 48 kHz.
Can we provide this spec please?

Thanks. A follow up question. Do you know if the spec will improve when the sample rate is increased to 96 kHz? I've seen on the TAS5825M that the total latency is proportional to the sample period. That part had a DSP, and this one doesn't. Do you know if it will still be improved in a proportional way?

The latency is probably shorter if the input sample rate is higher. Let me run some quick testing tomorrow to double check.

I have been occupied by a few customer meetings today. I will try to give you the answer on Monday.
Sorry for my late response. The answer I gave to you last week is not correct.
I have rerun some testings with our new APX audio analyzer, which can measure the latency easily. See my results below.
a) latency = 437.5us if input sample rate is 48kHz
b) latency = 218.8us if input sample rate is 96kHz.
In addition, our design team has confirmed that the latency should be around 21 samples, which matches my data above.

Is there another digital input Audio Amp that has lower latency in the 30W (4 Ohms) range?
TAS5825M. However, it just has a little bit lower latency of 20 samples.
TAS5805M has pretty low latency (around 11 samples), but its output power cannot meet your requirements.
I'm the fellow with has been communicating with Darren on this subject, he has asked me to post a follow up question -
We are wondering if the latency values you provided are for the IC’s themselves. ( i.e. measured from the input pins of the IC to the output terminals of the amplifier )
Or was latency measured with an evaluation system that may have introduced additional delay. For example the combination of TAS5760XXEVM + PUREPATH-CMBEVM boards ? I would think this is not the case but thought we should verify.

The latency values I provided are for the IC + LC filter. I was using a bench board which is from our validation team.
