Part Number: PCM5102EVM-U
The Software I downloaded from the web (slac493a) is not for PCM5102EVM-U , but for: PCM5101EVM-S (see attached image) .
This version of CodeControl doesn't have an option for I2C Audio Source , NOT the SPDIF , that we're planning to use via the
USB controller of the PCM5102EVM-U .

The verified again the jumpers , and they're exactly as shown on the attached 5102EVM image.
The PC sound window shows the USB activity , but there is NO signal shown in the scope
on: DIN, WCLK and BCLK ; nor on: DIN, LRCK, BCK and LRCK .
Interesting enough is that this time I even don't see activity even on: SCL and SDA , that I
saw last time .

Just to make sure we check everything, you also confirmed that the dip-switches (SW3) are correct? If you switch to the OPT input, you should see data on SCLK, LRCK, and BCK (though DIN will be 0) - is that the case?
The SW3 is correct ! I cannot use the OPT input, since I don't have the right cable for it . I'll try to purchase it .
I think I have a work-around for you. The original CodecControl software did not support USB, but the hardware should. Try the following:
1. Configure the jumpers and SW3 for USB input.
2. Launch the CodecControl software.
3. Select View>Init Script
4. Select OPEN and select this file:PCM5102 Connect to USB.cfg
5. Press the RUN button.
I2S data should now be running to the PCM.
Let me know if that works.
I followed up all your instructions , see the attached image , checked with
the scope DIN, WCLK, BCLK and found No activity down there .
Also I checked again the SW3 switch jumpers (all LOW) for the USB flow .
At this point I suspect there could be an issue with the hardware. If you are looking at doing some analog evaluation of the PCM5102A, the PCM5142EVM would also work. These devices share the same analog performance. Shoot me an email at email@example.com with your address and I will sent the PCM5142EVM to you.
Since both eval boards, the PCM5102EVM DAC & PCM1862EVM ADC, were
faulty (the DAC wasn’t able to connect to the USB, and the ADC inserted
clock noise to the USB while didn’t pass through the analog signals) -
we’ve purchased replacement DAC & ADC eval boards from another vendors
and completed our goal of passing audio signals in a loop, as required in our
prototype system development.
We would appreciate it very much if you could recommend TI purchasing
department to refund us for our expenses which amount to:
$223.90 + $169.40 = $393.30

It is unfortunate that you were not able to do the evaluation you wanted on the PCM EVMs.
Any returns would need to be coordinated through the customer service center:
It's already more than 3 weeks since we sent TI Customer Support copy of our
purchase orders - for their refund on the PCM5102EVM-U and PCM1862EVM ,
see attached PDF copies. Please try to approach them directly, as it is impossible
for us to speak with them via their "hideout" behind the internet "case numbers".
Please elaborate to them that if we do not get the refund within the next 7 days,
we'll have to share the issue with BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the media.
