TAS5760L: TAS5760 - surviving an unplug event

Part Number: TAS5760L

The customer is planning to use the TAS5760 and he see that there is a shut down procedure but in his application there will be situations when the system power will be suddenly removed due to their customer unplugging the machine. Do we have any suggestions on how he can protect the TAS5760 when this occurs? Thank you

Hi Dan,

The TAS5760L should have no problem turning off when the system losses power. You will have to resend the configuration commands to the device once power starts up again however.

We hope to only need Hardware control mode... We have a -Mute that stays Low till the system is booted.

I am hoping to use -RST on -SPK_SD and inverted -Mute on SPK_Sleep.

When -RST goes Hi the PSs will be up, 30sec to 1 minute later I2S Clks will come on, and shortly after Mute will bring SPK_SLP low.

Does that sound workable?

Hi David,

Controlling SPK_SD and SPK_Sleep will allow full control over shutdown and mute operations. Yes that looks good.
