Dear,

our client design TLV320AIC1106 with MC8090( 3G Modle) was can work and sound was normal , but MC8090 was EOL.

so We change Air prime WP8548( 3G Modle) linear mode Audio sound was no clearn have backgounf noise, select 8 bit u-law mode was no sound.

have any suggestion other Audio code with the same TLV320AIC1106 spec, but can support 16 bit linear.

There are a number of codecs that have similar spec, but not exact, and the pinout will be different.

1. TLV320AIC23B - This is another simple codec, but it is not hardware controlled, I2C is required to program it. headphone out supports 32ohm minimum
2. TLV320AIC3101 - This device is much more flexible. and has more inputs/outputs.

TLV320AIC1106 we saw can support 13L and 8u law mode , our client use PCM interface as below spec, it could be workable?

Can you explain the volume padding bits?
all of TI's more recent (2003-present) audio codecs will used 2's complement data. to be clear, this is all PCM data, and not PDM.
