Does this codec support playback after suspend-to-RAM (S3/ Deep Sleep state in other words) ?

Do the registers need to be re-initialized after resume from suspend mode?

    If the device is reset, the registers get cleared.  However all of the analog blocks can be shut down, and that essentially puts the device in a pseudo sleep mode.  

    you can see in the datasheet specs that with all blocks powered down and headphone detect enabled the current draw is very low:
