TAS2521: Can it be used without MCLK?

Part Number: TAS2521

Hello TI team

The TAS2521 has a PLL function inside. If DAC_CLK is used with BCLK, do not need to input an external MCLK?

or do I have to input MCLK?

  • Hi Downey,

MCLK is optional for TAS2521. As you say, you can select BCLK as input to the PLL to set the internal sampling frequency.
This is as shown in Application Reference Guide section 2.6 and figure 2-8: www.ti.com/.../slau456.pdf
